Death Sentence for downloading and distributing an article insulting Islam?

OR, WHEN MENTALLY ILL PEOPLE IN CONTROL CALL THEMSELVES MUSLIMS AND TAKE OVER GOVERNMENTS

Incidents like this in the Islamic world might make one believe this is the norm. The western media sources give heavy press coverage that proclaims all Muslims are wacky and the Islamic faith fuels hatred.

But, is this the truth? Are all Muslims mean? This seems to be the common western view of countries where Islamic law is the governing law. This is Islam? It must be. If not, then, where is the outcry from Muslims around the world. Or, is there an outcry that is not being given press coverage? Has the western world provoked the people of these regions to hate? Or, has their media been as deceptive as the western media has been at building hatred, and selling 'news'?

Little I can do to help this 23 year old reporter. I can pray. And I can ask you to pray. Our prayers are effective. Our God is a true and living and loving God. Not some death crazed supreme being bent on breaking the spirit of his creatures, but, a mighty Creator who loves His children and endeavors to bring each and every one safely home to Heaven.

The young man's name is Sayed Pervez Kambaksh. He is currently awaiting execution for blasphemy in Afghanistan. His crime - allegedly downloaded articles exposing Islamic treatment of women. It is reported that under Sharia Law, this is an insult to their prophet Mohammed, which some 'Islamic leaders' claim is a crime punishable by death - truth? Only the media knows.

An update to the Sayed Pervez Kambaksh Story. or, WHEN MENTALLY ILL PEOPLE CONTROL GOVERNMENTS

Because of world wide pressure on the Afghan government it has been reported that Sayed's death sentence will not be enforced. What exactly that means is still a tragic snapshot of life within a government built upon sharia law.

"What they call my trial lasted just four minutes in a closed court. I was told that I was guilty and the decision was that I was going to die", reported Sayed in an interview by Kim Sengupta and reported in The Independent.

Keep on praying for this young man's life and freedom. God is in control of the situation. Let us participate in His victory over such evil. Amen.

I wasn't sure how to answer.. or, if even to. The Islamic religion has been maligned as a breeding ground for terrorism - 'not all Muslims are terrorist, but, most terrorists are Muslims' is a phrase made popular by talk show entertainers like Rush and Beck.

On the surface, it seems to be the case. But, I believe there is something more insidious happening below the 'media coverage'. A plot. A plan. Yes, a conspiracy to create a global enemy that the whole world populace should fear and hate.

This whole environment has spilt over into the personal lives of people. Especially, those that interact or interrelate with Islamic people.

I wasn't sure how to answer my friend, or if even to.

What does it matter to me what somebody else believes... it's their eternity, not mine. I can say this and that is Joel 2:32 "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call."

Allah is not the name of the LORD. Muhammed was a mentally ill madman. Islam has been spread throughout the world by violent conversion. And, a Muslim will live life never sure whether or not he has done enough to be saved.

Another thought... just wondering outloud... if a Jew eats pork, than is he a Jew? If a Muslim does not control his uncircumcised wife in public by forcing her to wear a burka than is he a Muslim? If an Amish drives a car is he Amish? If a Wikka does not worship nature is he a witch? If a Catholic believes the Bible is the final authority is he a Catholic? If a Jehovah's Witness celebrates Christmas is he a Jehovas Witness? If a Hindu does not believe in reincarnation is he a Hindu? If a Christian believes he is saved by his good works is he a Christian? - - - - - People can say they are this and they are that, but if they do not adhere to the traditional teachings of what they proclaim than what do we say? Are they or are they not what they say they are?

Your friend can practice some of the fundamentals of Islam, but not all of them, and still call himself a Muslim? . . . That is the foolishness of most manmade religions.. they cannot be followed and therefore the follower cannot ever be totally sure of his/her eternal condition.

Born again believers can follow the one fundamental belief and know eternal salvation - John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
