How bizarre is the biz of CHE marketing?
On principle, almost everything in the world of free market capitalism that this mass murderer stood against is what is keeping his cartoonish image alive. It would be a stretch to say that anything historical is behind keeping the memory of Fidel Castro's hatchet man alive. As best as it can be said, it is all about the almighty buck that the face of Che Guevara is plastered on T-shirts, surf boards, watches, bodies (Tyson), posters, hats, and more.
